Using Custom Dynamic Date Ranges
Custom Dynamic Date Ranges let you build a rolling date window that recalculates relative to today (or relative to your As Of range for comparisons) every time you open a saved report or custom dashboard. Unlike a static custom date range, the dates themselves shift forward as time passes, so you can set it up once in a custom dashboard and it stays current.
Where You'll Find It
Custom Dynamic appears as a drop-down option in three pickers inside the date range filter modal:
- Primary Range
- Compare Ranges (Compare, Compare #2, Compare #3)
- As Of (Primary and every Compare range slot)
- Open the date range filter and select Custom Dynamic from the Primary Range dropdown.
- Choose Next or Last.
- Enter a whole number.
Numbers must be positive whole numbers (no decimals, zero, or negatives). - Choose a time unit: Days, Weeks, Months, or Years.
Each time unit has a maximum: 999 Days, 150 Weeks, 50 Months, 5 Years. - Click on Apply

The resolved date range appears live below the controls and updates as you make your selections. This field is read-only while the Custom Dynamic dropdown is selected, since the dates are calculated automatically rather than entered by hand.
Setting Up a Compare Range
Compare Ranges work the same way as Primary, with one addition: when your unit is Months or Years, a same-day-of-week checkbox appears. This keeps weekday alignment consistent with your Primary range for cleaner period-over-period comparisons. Day and Week time units already preserve weekday alignment automatically, so the checkbox only shows up when it's needed.
Setting Up an As Of option
As Of gets two new Custom Dynamic options:
- Custom Dynamic: standard as-of tracking
- Custom Dynamic w/ Canceled: same as above, but KPI calculations include reservations that were eventually cancelled after the As Of date.
Both As Of Custom Dynamic options use the same number + time unit controls as Primary and Compare.

How It Displays in a Section
Once configured, your filter and legend will show the resolved dates alongside the as-of date, for example:
Custom Dynamic 8/1/2026 to 3/31/2027, as of 8/24/2026
Displayed dates update automatically each time you load the saved report or custom dashboard.
Custom Dynamic vs. Custom Static
The original "Custom" date range option is still available, but it is now labeled Custom Static to distinguish it. Custom Static still locks to the exact start/end dates that you've manually picked in the calendars and never changes these dates.

-
Use Custom Dynamic when you want a range that stays current relative to today.
-
Use Custom Static when you need a fixed, unchanging date range window (ie. Spring Break dates in March-April, Ski season dates in Nov-March, etc).
FAQs
Does my Custom Dynamic range update while I'm looking at the report? No. It recalculates each time the section loads, not live in the middle of a session.
Can I save a Custom Dynamic range to a custom dashboard or saved report? Yes, it saves and behaves the same way saved dates do today.
What happened to the old Minus One/Two/Three Years presets? Those are still available as fixed presets in the Date Range drop downs.
